Basketball Recap: Kimball Comes Up Short

Kimball suffered their closest loss since February 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lodi Flames by a score of 48-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 62-53 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kimball still got an impressive performance from Emma Coronado, who went 9 of 22 on her way to 23 points. Emaan Khaliqik was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Leading Lodi to victory were Isabel Humphrey and Emiko Tanaka. Humphrey went 6 for 11 en route to 14 points and five rebounds, while Tanaka posted 19 points and five boards. Humphrey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Cox, who earned three points and six boards.

Kimball's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Lodi, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Kimball didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-36 win against West on the 27th. Lodi has also already played their next game, a 75-20 defeat against St. Mary's on the 30th.
