Softball Recap: Centaurus Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Centaurus had won seven straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped up to 14-1 to make it eight. They blew past the Jefferson Academy Jaguars 18-1. Considering the Warriors have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Charlotte Crim was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Long was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024. Emery Fannin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Centaurus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-1. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 17 runs.

On Jefferson Academy's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Arnold, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centaurus will face off against Englewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jefferson Academy, they will challenge Aurora Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
