Volleyball Recap: Amphitheater Takes a Loss

Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Desert View Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Amphitheater took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-21.

Kayla Tuakalau paced Amphitheater's offense, picking up nine kills. Tuakalau got some help from Isabella Espinoza and her nine assists. Finally, Tuakalau was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Amphitheater's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Desert View, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.

Amphitheater has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Douglas on the 6th. As for Desert View, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Flowing Wells at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
