Football Recap: Providence Pioneers vs. Holy Cross Cougars

After flying high against New Albany last Friday, Providence came back down to earth. The Pioneers fell 48-35 to the Holy Cross Cougars on Friday. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Nikolas Fondrisi threw for 138 yards and one TD. Jacob Evans was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Kalen Sipes rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Holy Cross, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Providence is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will square off against DeSales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
