Archbishop Ryan and Franklin Towne pushed the score to 12-7 the last time they played Franklin Towne, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Raiders and Ragdolls narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Warriors 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders and Ragdolls in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Aiden Goldberg made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Goldberg was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Archbishop Ryan got a great performance from Herb Lottier as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Lottier has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Goldberg wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Victor Corniel, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Jack Rock also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Archbishop Ryan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in five consecutive games.

Archbishop Ryan's record is now 11-6. As for Franklin Towne, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Ryan will square off against Germantown Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Franklin Towne, they will take on Father Judge on the 10th.
