Softball Recap: David Emanuel Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

David Emanuel Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Vidalia Heritage Academy with a sharp 15-0 win. David Emanuel Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Rayleigh Faircloth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kate Yeomans, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Lara McNure also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

David Emanuel Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

David Emanuel Academy's record now sits at 4-0. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, David Emanuel Academy will take on Georgia School for Innovation & Classics at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, they will host Citizens Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
