Softball Recap: Brooks County Comes Up Short

Brooks County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Echols County Wildcats. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Brooks County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey White, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were White's first of the season. Another was Katelyn Maxwell, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Brooks County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Echols County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coincidentally, Brooks County and Echols County will both be playing Lanier County the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
