Scottsbluff had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the South Sioux City Cardinals, posting a 62-28 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.

Ava Reed was a one-woman wrecking crew as she posted 22 points and six steals. Addy Bowlin was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Scottsbluff was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Sioux City only posted five.

South Sioux City's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Bailee Durant and Lola Phipps. Durant put up eight points in addition to seven boards and three blocks, while Phipps had nine points. Durant is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Scottsbluff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-44 win against Norfolk on the 6th. As for South Sioux City, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-34 loss against North Platte on the 6th.
