Football Recap: Central Raiders vs. Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans
Central had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans and fell 58-8. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 58-8 to the Spartans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cedar Vale/Dexter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Criss, who threw for 320 yards and seven TDs while picking up 14.5 yards per attempt. That's the most passing yards Criss has posted since back in October of 2024. 135 of Criss' passing yards were hauled in by Wyatt Martin, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.
Coming up, Central will head out to face off against Sedan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Devils will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, they will welcome Oswego at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
