Piedmont Academy extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to 11  on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-10. They took  an  11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stratford Academy Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing  9-8 to the Eagles when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

  Naomi Mask and  Peyton Whitfield did some serious damage despite the final result:  Mask  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  double, while  Whitfield  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Mask is  on a roll when it comes to  hits, as she's  now  got three or more in each of the last three games she's  played.  Arden Herring was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
As for Stratford Academy, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.3 runs over those games.
On Stratford Academy's side,  Cordtney Galoia made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Galoia was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Hatsy Russell, who  went 3-for-5 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season. Another player making a difference was  Kylee Shelley, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.
 Looking ahead, Piedmont Academy will head out to  take on John Milledge Academy  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9  runs per game  this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Stratford Academy, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Mount de Sales Academy  at 6:30  p.m. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75  runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
