Soccer Game Preview: Beardstown vs. Jacksonville

The Beardstown Tigers will face off against the Jacksonville Crimsons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Beardstown is headed into the contest having not lost since September 11 and will look to keep things rolling. They blew past Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M 8-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Beardstown, who have now won ten matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville hasn't lost a match since September 2nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They and Sacred Heart-Griffin finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw. The outcome might've been different if Troy DeFrates hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Beardstown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those eight matches. Jacksonville's draw makes their record 10-2-3 this season.
