Football Recap: Del Norte Comes Up Short at Home Against Hope Christian

Del Norte unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Hope Christian Huskies 47-6 on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Nicholas Archuleta threw for 140 yards and one touchdown.

Hope Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rj Montoya led the charge by throwing for 306 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes. Darrien Williams was another key receiver, picking up 205 receiving yards and three scores.

Del Norte wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 51-0 defeat against Albuquerque Academy on the 30th. As for Hope Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 12-6 win against Legacy Academy on the 30th.
