Soccer Game Preview: Port of Los Angeles vs. Foshay

The Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Foshay Wolverines at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Port of Los Angeles' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Port of Los Angeles is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Stella High Charter Academy on Monday. Port of Los Angeles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stella High Charter Academy.

Meanwhile, Foshay beat Locke 3-1 on Friday. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Saints are ranked 1102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Port of Los Angeles' loss dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Foshay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4-2.

Port of Los Angeles came up short against Foshay when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Port of Los Angeles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
