After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crete, Gross Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Plattsmouth Blue Devils 11-3. Considering the Cougars have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Alexis Skradski spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lauren Kosse was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Linder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
