Basketball Recap: Casa Grande Falls Despite Big Games from Haddley Bushey and Natalia Nealon

Casa Grande lost against Rancho Cotate back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the Gauchos and the Cougars didn't end well, with the Gauchos falling 57-41. The Gauchos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Casa Grande's loss came despite strong showings from Natalia Nealon and Haddley Bushey. Nealon posted nine points and six rebounds, while Bushey dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. Nealon is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Nizhoni Salazar was another key player, putting up five points and five boards.

Casa Grande now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rancho Cotate, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Grande will host San Rafael at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rancho Cotate, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
