Basketball Recap: Whittier Christian Takes a Loss

Whittier Christian was the 54-45 winner over Maranatha when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Whittier Christian Heralds received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 55-38 to the Maranatha Minutemen.

When it comes to explaining why Whittier Christian lost, don't look at Andrea Padilla. Despite the final result, she posted six points along with six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Analise Quintero, who put up five points and nine rebounds.

Whittier Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Maranatha, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Heritage Christian the next time they take the court. Whittier Christian will host Heritage Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while Maranatha will host them at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th.
