Basketball Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Cerritos Dons

Having just played yesterday, the University Trojans will jump right back in to play the Cerritos Dons at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

University saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They took a 51-32 bruising from Northwood.

The losing side was boosted by Julia Holmes, who posted seven points and eight boards. She has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Selin Haytoglu, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Cerritos lost to Santa Margarita on the road by a 59-41 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Eagles are ranked 43rd).

Cerritos now has a losing record at 3-4. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Things could have been worse for University, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-41 loss to Cerritos when the teams last played back in December of 2014. Can University avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
