Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Raiders vs. Howard Huskies

The Northeast Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Howard Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Northeast fell victim to Academy for Classical Education and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 12-0 to the Gryphons. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Gryphons: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Howard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Aquinas, falling 13-0.

Howard's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Howard's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northeast hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Howard, though, as they've only averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Northeast's hitters?

Northeast took their win against Howard in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1. Will Northeast repeat their success, or does Howard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
