Basketball Game Preview: Clovis East Timberwolves vs. Clovis Cougars

The Clovis East Timberwolves will take on the Clovis Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clovis East is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Clovis West just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Golden Eagles, falling 83-33. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clovis). They blew past Clovis North 76-40 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars who have now won four games in a row.

Clovis pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Clovis East, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
