Baseball Game Preview: Drew vs. Mays Raiders

For the second straight game, Drew will face off against Mays. Drew will be playing at home against Mays at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Drew is looking for their season's first win.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Drew's offense. They lost 12-0 to Mays on Thursday.

For Mays' part, Tyson Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Williams a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, TyReon Byner was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024. LaMarquis Sandifer was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Mays' victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Drew, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Drew has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of 1.000. However, it's not like Mays struggles in that department as they've averaged .484. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
