Softball Recap: Chinle's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Chinle hadn't done well against Window Rock recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Chinle skirted past Window Rock 5-4. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

Charmayne Charley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Those four earned runs gave her a new career-low.

At the plate, Bryonna Hoskie was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Bethany Jones was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Chinle's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Window Rock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Chinle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-8 win against Pinon on the 14th. As for Window Rock, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Joseph City on the 19th.
