Soccer Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Foothill

Foothill hadn't done well against El Dorado recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Foothill Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the El Dorado Golden Hawks. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 103rd).

Zuly Morales and Vanessa Paredes scored both of Foothill's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

The victory got Foothill back to even at 4-4-1. As for El Dorado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3-2.

Foothill will take on Rosary Academy in a tournament on Friday. El Dorado and Sonora will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
