Carlsbad scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 81-72 to the San Marcos Knights. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (58), the Lancers still had to take the loss.

San Marcos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jalen Williams, who went 9-for-14 en route to 24 points. Another player making a difference was Mike Brown, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards.

Carlsbad dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for San Marcos, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Carlsbad will take on Olympian in a holiday battle at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Marcos and San Lorenzo will round out the year against one another at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
