Softball Recap: York Takes a Loss

If York was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Milford on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dukes fell 8-5 to the Twin River Titans on Saturday. The Dukes have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

York saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenzye Shepherd, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Shepherd has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kaylee Wegrzyn also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Twin River, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

While York had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
