Baseball Game Preview: North Gwinnett Bulldogs vs. Greeneville Greene Devils

The North Gwinnett Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Greeneville Greene Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Gwinnett's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Greeneville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

North Gwinnett is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Parkview, who was ranked 25th at the time (North Gwinnett was ranked 14th). The Bulldogs took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Friday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Greeneville made easy work of Cherokee on Tuesday and carried off a 13-2 victory. The Greene Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

North Gwinnett's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 22-2. As for Greeneville, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.

North Gwinnett took their victory against Greeneville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
