Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aquinas Academy). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 65-16 victory over the Leechburg Blue Devils. With the Crusaders ahead 34-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Aquinas Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carly Bezila, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and four steals. Those seven assists gave Bezila a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Tarquinio, who posted five points in addition to 12 boards and four steals.

Aquinas Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive matchups.

Aquinas Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Leechburg, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Aquinas Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-38 defeat against Karns City on the 1st. As for Leechburg, they will host Union Area at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
