Soccer Game Preview: Preuss UCSD vs. Kearny

The Preuss UCSD Tritons will head out to square off against the Kearny Komets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Preuss UCSD has four straight victories, Kearny has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Preuss UCSD's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Mountain Empire 1-0.

Meanwhile, Kearny fell victim to Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Komets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 926th, while the Patriots are ranked 365th).

Preuss UCSD's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Kearny, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-2.

Preuss UCSD might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Kearny when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Can Preuss UCSD avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
