Basketball Game Preview: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens

Torrey Pines is 10-0 against Canyon Crest Academy since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Torrey Pines Falcons face off against the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 7:00 p.m. Torrey Pines knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Canyon Crest Academy likes a good challenge.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Torrey Pines turned things around against Rancho Bernardo on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Broncos 68-28. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Cody Shen and Tevaris Green were among the main playmakers for Torrey Pines as the former went 10 of 15 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds and the latter went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The game was Shen's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Rogowski, who posted 11 points and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Steele Canyon on Monday and fell 54-51. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canyon Crest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Torrey Pines, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-5.

Everything went Torrey Pines' way against Canyon Crest Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as Torrey Pines made off with an 81-55 victory.
