            The Soledad Aztecs will challenge the Monterey Dores at 5:45  p.m.  on Thursday. Soledad is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.2  goals per game  this season.
Soledad is headed into the  contest having not lost since December 6 and will look to keep things rolling. They walked away with  a   3-1  victory over Rancho San Juan  on Tuesday. Given the Aztecs' advantage  in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings  (they are ranked 67th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 391st), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Giselle Zepeda and  Myrin Amilpa scored all three of Soledad's goals,  bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.
 Meanwhile, Monterey was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were a single  goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a  2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Watsonville. That's two games in a row now that the Dores have lost by  just one  goal.
 Soledad is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-1-1 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 48  goals over those nine  games. As for Monterey, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
