Basketball Recap: Monache Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Monache rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-43 win over the Portola Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Marauders.

Monache's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelley Andrade, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Andrade is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Milly Rojas, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Monache pushed their record up to 25-8 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points over those games. As for Portola, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-16.

Looking ahead, Monache will face off against Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monache is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season. Portola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
