Saint Thomas Aquinas faced Bishop Miege in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Saints breezed past the Stags to the tune of 43-14. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for the Saints this season.

Calin Arndt was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 249 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Those 249 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Saint Thomas Aquinas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Miege only rushed for 103.

Saint Thomas Aquinas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Terrence Bryant and Brydon Stephenson.

Despite the loss, Bishop Miege still got an impressive performance from Michael Blount, who rushed for 48 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 78 receiving yards.

Saint Thomas Aquinas' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Bishop Miege, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
