Soccer Game Preview: Bellevue vs. Monticello

The Bellevue Comets will face off against the Monticello Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Thursday, Bellevue didn't have quite enough to beat Clayton-Ridge and fell 2-1. Bellevue have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Monticello took on Western Dubuque on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for Monticello in their meetings with Western Dubuque: they've now lost three in a row.

Bellevue took their win against Monticello in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
