Soccer Game Preview: Livermore vs. Dougherty Valley

The Livermore Cowboys will head out to square off against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Livermore's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Livermore is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against San Ramon Valley on Thursday. Livermore fell just short of San Ramon Valley by a score of 2-1.

Livermore's goal came courtesy of Eleanor Cowan, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Dougherty Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Carondelet, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Cougars are ranked 27th).

Livermore's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Dougherty Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
