Soccer Game Preview: Escalon vs. Orestimba

The Escalon Cougars will face off against the Orestimba Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Escalon's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Escalon came up short against Ripon and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 852nd, while the Indians are ranked 150th).

Meanwhile, Orestimba fell victim to Ripon Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Escalon's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-6. As for Orestimba, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-3.
