Baseball Recap: Business Engineering Science Tech Victorious

Business Engineering Science Tech's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Washington Bulldogs. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Terez Norman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Norman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Mario Lemon was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Calek Sewell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Business Engineering Science Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Business Engineering Science Tech's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Washington, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Business Engineering Science Tech will venture away from home to face off against Therrell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Washington, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Holy Innocents Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on the 16th.
