Football Game Preview: Simpson Academy Cougars vs. Parklane Academy Pioneers

The Simpson Academy Cougars will challenge the Parklane Academy Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Simpson Academy has given up an average of 28.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Friday. Simpson Academy took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookhaven Academy. Simpson Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braxton Baldwin, who rushed for 29 yards and two scores, and also threw for 185 yards and one touchdown. Kolt Walker was another key receiver, picking up 94 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Parklane Academy faced Madison-Ridgeland Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pioneers came up short against the Patriots, falling 49-24. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Parklane Academy fell to 7-1. As for Simpson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
