Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Eagle Rock

The Marshall Barristers will head out on the road to challenge the Eagle Rock Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Marshall's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Wilson with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Barristers in their matchups with the Mules: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Eagle Rock came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Knights 5-0. It was an even better day for Quinn Powell as she scored three goals for her team.

Eagle Rock's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Marshall might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Eagle Rock in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
