Basketball Recap: La Quinta Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

The La Quinta Blackhawks walked away with a 36-29 victory over the Xavier Prep Saints on Wednesday thanks in part to Castro-Galarza, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 steals. Castro-Galarza is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Xavier Prep still got an impressive performance from Grace Thomsen, who posted 20 points. That was a full 69% of Xavier Prep's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

La Quinta has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Xavier Prep, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-15.
