Basketball Game Preview: Corona del Mar Sea Kings vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

The Corona del Mar Sea Kings are taking a road trip to face off against the Los Alamitos Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Corona del Mar has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Los Alamitos will arrive with six straight victories.

On Monday, Corona del Mar ended up a good deal behind Huntington Beach and lost 49-33.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Los Alamitos over Newport Harbor in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Los Alamitos blew Newport Harbor out of the water with a 62-17 final score. The Griffins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 31 points or more this season.

Los Alamitos has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Corona del Mar, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10.

Corona del Mar strolled past Los Alamitos in their previous meeting on January 7th by a score of 50-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corona del Mar since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
