Football Recap: Nickerson Comes Up Short

Nickerson played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Trinity Academy Knights, falling 64-20. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.

Zac Zimmerman produced another solid performance throwing for 265 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Trinity Academy. The dominant performance also gave Zimmerman a new career-high in passer rating (150.2). Trinity Academy's leading receiver Bryton Baty was Zimmerman's top target yet again, picking up 164 receiving yards and three scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Nickerson and nudges their season record down to 1-7. As for Trinity Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

As of now, neither Nickerson nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
