Soccer Game Preview: Jersey vs. Carlinville

The Jersey Panthers will head out to face off against the Carlinville Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jersey has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 3rd.

Jersey managed to keep up with Mascoutah until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Indians. While losing is never fun, Jersey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Mascoutah are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Carlinville was able to grind out a solid victory over Staunton on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. That's two games straight that Carlinville have won by exactly two goals.

The win made it two in a row for Carlinville and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Jersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
