Football Recap: Washington County Golden Hawks vs. Dodge County Indians

After flying high against Central last Friday, Washington County came back down to earth. The Golden Hawks took a hard 38-19 fall against the Dodge County Indians on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Hawks of the 35-24 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Dodge County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Alston, who rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Those 173 rushing yards gave Alston a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kain Mincey, who threw for 174 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes.

Washington County's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dodge County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
