Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Academy Lions vs. Santa Maria Saints

Valley Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Santa Maria recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Valley Christian Academy Lions will take on the Santa Maria Saints in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Valley Christian Academy duked it out withBishop Diego on Saturday. Valley Christian Academy lost 66-43 to Bishop Diego. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since November 21st.

Meanwhile, Santa Maria didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Parlier last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Santa Maria's win came from a few key players Valley Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aaliyah Juarez, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Hill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Valley Christian Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Santa Maria, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
