After a string of four wins, the John Adams Academy Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 68-57 to Foresthill. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as John Adams Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Foresthill is ranked 819th).
When it comes to explaining why John Adams Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elliott Schwartz. Despite the final result, she scored 34 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists. Schwartz scored a full 59.6% of John Adams Academy's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Norah Barmby, who scored 6 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
John Adams Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Foresthill, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
John Adams Academy will square off against Rio Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Foresthill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pioneer at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th.
