Softball Recap: York Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

While York put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Highway 6. The Dukes put the hurt on the Trailblazers with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Dukes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Kynlee Westwood, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Highway 6 off the board. Westwood has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makayla Snider, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Andi Winterrowd, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

York is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Highway 6, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Coming up, York will head out to face off against Hastings at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highway 6 does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
