Soccer Game Preview: South Gwinnett vs. Pebblebrook

The South Gwinnett Comets will head out on the road to take on the Pebblebrook Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pebblebrook will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: South Gwinnett extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Comets were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Lanier. That's two games straight that South Gwinnett have won by exactly three goals.

Rahjae Nelson and Cristopher Garcia scored all four of South Gwinnett's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Pebblebrook made easy work of Cass on Thursday and carried off a 7-1 victory. Given Pebblebrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Cass are ranked 140th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Pebblebrook and bumps their season record up to 13-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two matches. As for South Gwinnett, the win got them back to even at 9-9-1.
