Football Recap: West Las Vegas Comes Up Short

West Las Vegas lost against Dexter back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dons had to suffer through a 50-23 loss at the hands of the Demons.

Dexter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cj Granados, who rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 137 yards and one TD on perfect 5-for-5 passing. The dominant performance also gave Granados a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Garet Gonzalez was another key rusher, rushing for 104 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.

West Las Vegas' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dexter, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Las Vegas will welcome Ruidoso at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dexter, they will be playing at home against Grants at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
