Basketball Recap: Walnut Street Christian Comes Up Short

Walnut Street Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 49-31 to the Great Commission Bears.

Great Commission's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexa Hall led the charge by going 7 for 17 on her way to 17 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Hall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Bordack, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Walnut Street Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Great Commission, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut Street Christian will head out to face off against Juniata Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Walnut Street Christian is facing Juniata Christian at the right time seeing as Juniata Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Great Commission, they will head out on the road to take on Clearfield Alliance Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 11th.
