Softball Recap: Riverview Gardens Takes a Loss

Riverview Gardens came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-4 to the Hancock Tigers. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 17-3 to the Tigers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Des'Tinee Guilbeaux was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Janye Gibson was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Riverview Gardens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hancock, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Riverview Gardens will venture away from home to face off against University City at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hancock, they will face off against Maplewood-Richmond Heights at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
