Baseball Recap: Victory Baptist Comes Up Short

Victory Baptist's last matchup with Covenant Christian Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. Victory Baptist lost 13-3 to Covenant Christian Academy. If the Warrior were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Rams when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Victory Baptist saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Alexander, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Sawyer Kent also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Victory Baptist has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Covenant Christian Academy's record now sits at 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Baptist will square off against Creekside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Victory Baptist at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
